Valu Ford and Chrysler

Apr 4, 2021

The Ford Mustang Mach-E and the Ford F-150 EV are two of the most eagerly-anticipated vehicles of the early 2020s. Both of these vehicles are all-new, all-electric models from Ford that feature revolutionary technology. The F-150 EV infotainment may be the same as the one found in the Mach-E. The 2021 Mustang Mach-E went on sale in December of 2020 for the 2021 model year. Many classic Mustang fans and auto critics alike were skeptical about the release of an all-electric crossover SUV Mustang model, but the 2021 Mustang Mach-E has most certainly lived up to the iconic Mustang name.

The all-electric Ford F-150 has not yet been released on the mainstream auto market and is not expected to be available for purchase until the 2022 or 2023 model years—it is most likely to be released sometime within 2022 as a 2023 model. Countless Ford fans have been thrilled about this all-electric pickup truck’s upcoming release ever since the Ford F-150 EV was unveiled to the public—although details about this eagerly awaited model have been largely shrouded in secrecy by Ford.

F-150 EV and Mach-E Could Have the same Infotainment

F-150 EV and Mach-E Could Have the same Infotainment

Not many details are known yet about the Ford F-150 EV—except that it will be an all-electric model, of course. However, recent close-up spy shots of Ford F-150 EV prototypes have revealed the edge of the all-electric F-150’s infotainment display screen.

The screen is almost completely covered up in these leaked pictures, but one edge of the screen is visible and F-150 fans immediately noticed that the edge of the screen does not fit perfectly against the vehicle’s dashboard as it does in the current F-150 models. Instead, there is a small gap between the F-150 EV’s dashboard and this all-electric pickup truck’s infotainment display screen.

This minor detail has led many drivers and auto critics alike to believe that the F-150 EV might feature the same infotainment software and interface as the 2021 Mustang Mach-E when it is finally released on the mainstream auto market. It is important to note that these rumors are primarily based on speculation—Ford has not yet released any official information about the infotainment system that will be featured in the F-150 EV.

If the Ford F-150 EV does come equipped with the same infotainment system as the 2021 Mustang Mach-E, however, auto critics and drivers agree that this infotainment system will be a positive feature of the all-electric F-150. Mustang Mach-E drivers have

been very satisfied with the performance of the all-new, all-electric Mustang model’s infotainment software and interface. Keep reading to learn more about some top features of the Mustang Mach-E’s infotainment system that just might make an appearance in the upcoming Ford F-150 EV when it is finally released on the mainstream auto market.

Large Display Screen

The vast majority of infotainment display screens in vehicles that are currently available on the mainstream auto market—even new vehicles for the 2021 model year—measure fewer than 10 inches from one side of the screen to the other.

The touchscreen infotainment display in the 2021 Mustang Mach-E, however, measures 15.5 inches and is oriented vertically at the center of the all-new Mustang model’s dashboard.

This large touchscreen display has been reported to be very responsive with a user-friendly interface and bright, colorful icons that are pleasing to the eye and contribute to the modern and functional aesthetic of the 2021 Mach-E model.

State-of-the-Art Software

Beyond its large and ultra-responsive touchscreen display, the infotainment system that is featured in the 2021 Mustang Mach-E runs Ford’s exclusive state-of-the-art Sync 4A software.

This infotainment software integrates effortlessly with your smartphone. It is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and features natural voice recognition capabilities that allows you to access entertainment from your smartphone, make phone calls, send text messages, use navigation, etc. while keeping your eyes on the road ahead of you.

It also comes equipped with a cloud-connected navigation system that keeps you up-to-date on weather and traffic conditions on your route as well as upcoming construction zones and parking availability at your destination.

Plus, Ford’s Sync 4A infotainment system allows for over-the-air updates, so you can always get access to Ford’s latest infotainment software through instant updates that don’t require you to take your vehicle into a dealership for service.

As of mid-2021, the infotainment system that will be featured in the Ford F-150 EV when it finally hits the mainstream auto market has not yet been revealed. Only time will tell if the upcoming all-electric F-150 will come equipped with the same large-screened, Sync 4A-backed infotainment system that is featured in the all-new 2021 Mustang Mach-E model.
