The debut of the all-new Ford F-150 full-size pickup truck model has been long-awaited among Ford fans and pickup truck drivers across the world. Finally, the all-new Ford F-150 is becoming a reality. On June 25, 2020, Ford unveiled the long-awaited, brand-new F-150 model that is expected to hit dealerships for widespread purchase by the last quarter of 2020 for the 2021 model year. Production of the all-new F-150 is expected to begin in October.

If you’re a Ford pickup truck fan in the market for a new vehicle, set your sights on the new and improved Ford F-150. Here are 5 things you need to know about the all-new 2021 Ford F-150 full-size pickup truck that is about to hit the mainstream auto market.

  1. New Hybrid Option

One of the reasons why the unveiling of the all-new Ford F-150 was so eagerly awaited among Ford drivers and pickup truck fans in general is that Ford was expected to come out with a previously-unheard-of hybrid version of their most popular full-size pickup truck.

As they revealed on June 25th, Ford did not disappoint in this area. The all-new Ford F-150 will be available with six different engine options, all of which will be paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission to ensure a smooth and quiet ride for drivers and passengers alike.

One of these six engine options will be a “PowerBoost” hybrid V6 engine that will have an estimated cruising range of 700 miles and a maximum towing capacity of 12,000 pounds or more.

These impressive stats suggest that drivers of the all-new hybrid F-150 can look forward to driving an eco-friendly, fuel-sipping hybrid version of their favorite pickup truck without sacrificing any of the power or performance that comes with other trucks that are equipped with fully gas-powered V6 engines.

  1. Pro Power Onboard

“Pro Power Onboard” is an all-new integrated power generator that comes standard on all hybrid F-150 models and is available as an add-on option for the gas-powered 2021 F-150 models.

This integrated power generator is an innovative feature that can be used to recharge tools and other devices while the truck is on and even while it’s moving. It can charge anything from a pole saw for landscaping to a mini-fridge or a TV for an evening of tailgating.

  1. Bold yet Understated Design

The all-new Ford F-150 comes with some new design features that honor this quintessential American pickup truck that has been an integral part of Ford’s vehicle lineup for more than 70 years.

The instrument panels of all 2021 F-150 models produced for the United States feature an interior etching of the American flag. An etching of the first-ever F-150 King Ranch model appears on the instrument panels of the all-new F-150 King Ranch models. A map of Detroit—where Ford is based—is present on the door of 2021 F-150 XLT Sport models.

When all is said and done, the design of the Ford F-150 pickup truck is bold yet understated. It stands out and has its own unique character, but it isn’t so flashy that it looks tacky or like it’s trying too hard. Instead, it’s perfectly understated, but still makes a statement on the road.

  1. Active Drive Assist

Do you ever wish your pickup truck could drive itself? Get one step closer to that reality with the 2021 Ford F-150’s all-new “Active Drive Assist” system.

This special driver-assistance feature allows for hands-free driving in all 2021 F-150 models. “Active Drive Assist” controls the truck’s speed, braking, and steering using multiple cameras, radars, and sensors and is available in North America.

  1. Unique Amenities

The all-new Ford F-150 features a variety of unique amenities that improve its practicality and functionality and make this brand-new truck fully one-of-a-kind.

For example, the tie-downs on the tailgate of the all-new F-150 double as bottle openers for tailgating. The front seats recline almost 180 degrees to create an optimal environment for sleeping or resting during long trips in your truck. The gear shifter between the driver and passenger seat of the 2021 F-150 also folds down origami-style to create a flat surface in between the seats for signing documents or using a laptop computer.

All in all, the all-new 2021 F-150 stays true to its classic, all-American roots and features modern amenities, updates, and upgrades that are sure to put it back on top of the pickup truck market across American and worldwide.
